Winter Wipeout - 8th January 2023

8/1/2023

An out and back race to the summit of one of the Cheviots highest points.  This is early Jan so you’ll need to tackle whatever the weather throws at you.  Previous years have had snow, sleet, bogs, high winds and always a little bit of special sauce thrown in.  When you get back you get dunked in a river and then warmed up with a hot soup.

Iconic scenery such as Reaveley Hill, Cunyan Crags, Dunmoor, Hedgehope and a bit of the dreaded Comb Fell.  Hosted at Ingram cafe which is a prime location for coffee, cakes and all things designed to destroy diets.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the GMTR Multi Terrain Race again this year.  For those who have made this a regular haunt – we look forward to seeing you again.  You can enter the race NOW via the RunBritain website..  For those who have yet to try us out – then take a look at the pictures ‘and comments’ from 2019.   Check out the photo gallery on google.
Now in it’s 8th year, this challenging course takes in some of the toughest climbs and best views in the area, as you work your way up back roads, farmers’ fields, fords, moors and woodland – adjacent to the Swinton Estate near Masham.
We are a charity – so you won’t find any swanky gifts or flash prizes for entering our race.  But we do want to recognise your support, so our kind sponsors donate a range of modest prizes.  Please note this years prizes are yet to be determined.
As a community run charity, we want to make our events accessible to all, so we keep our entry costs low.  Entry is just £14 for affiliated and £15 for non affiliated members.  Online entries close on 1st October.  If the race is not full, then you may be able to enter on the day with a credit or debit card, for £16 – but you will have to register before 10am.

13/8/2022

The Gateshead Trail 10k that winds through the Derwent Walk Country Park is a fast, fun, and scenic race, with only a few inclines. It is a race that is suitable for all levels of runner.  Mid-race you will find the race has a section of the route that doubles up creating a fantastic social element.  Thanks to the rangers all the paths are also well maintained so although it is a trail race the 'off road' sections of path are hard packed and easy to run on. Essentially its a great introduction to world of trail running, away from the busy roads amongst scenery.

The start / finish area in Blaydon rugby club will welcome you with a relaxed family atmosphere. Bacon sandwiches, burgers and other delightful treats will be available from our street food vendors as well as freshly brewed Coffee from our artisan Coffee guys.  and a massage tent to smooth out any sore muscles.
