This is a 7 hour timed event where you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. You can complete as many laps of a 3.28 mile (5.3km) course along the River Wear as you wish within the 7 hour limit. We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap you will be able to choose from any of our previous iconic medals. Alternatively, you may carry on running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance. For those runners who choose to run 4 laps or more, you will also earn our half marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50km or ultra pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon. The course is classified as a trail run, however all paths are well maintained and no navigation is required. The aid station is at the start line and therefore available every 3.28 miles. The toilets are situated in Durham Amateur Rowing Club which is available for our runners use from 8am and for the entire event. Our medals will be strictly allocated on a first come first served basis and must be selected from the drop down list. We will provide updates on our Facebook Chat Group on how many medals are left. Please be aware your first choice medal may not be available but we will allocate them on a first come first served basis. The Stanhope 10 Miler is a non profit plastic free event that supports local charities by raising funds and awareness of their cause. All money raised goes directly to the charity.

We will be having a 5 miler and a 10 miler which will be excellent training runs for the GNR or autumn endurance events. Both events will start and finish at the Castle and take in some fabulous scenery around the site. All runners will get socks or a kit bag, a medal, snacks and a drink.

A speedy route from Ovingham out through Bywell and back along to the Riverside park at Low Prudhoe followed by Jelly, Sandwich and a cup of tea at race HQ at the old school in Ovingham. For more information click here On 20th August in Nottingham, we are hosting a day dedicated to 5000m running with up to 10 races throughout the day. Each race will be seeded by time, meaning you will be racing with people of a similar ability.
Coupled with a pacemaker at the front of each race, we aim to give you the best possible opportunity to set a new personal best! The event is open to anyone with a recent 5k / parkrun / 5000m of 22 minutes or quicker. At last year’s event over 65% of entrants ran a new PB! Click here to see our runs The Gateshead Trail 10k that winds through the Derwent Walk Country Park is a fast, fun, and scenic race, with only a few inclines. It is a race that is suitable for all levels of runner. Mid-race you will find the race has a section of the route that doubles up creating a fantastic social element. Thanks to the rangers all the paths are also well maintained so although it is a trail race the 'off road' sections of path are hard packed and easy to run on. Essentially its a great introduction to world of trail running, away from the busy roads amongst scenery.
The start / finish area in Blaydon rugby club will welcome you with a relaxed family atmosphere. Bacon sandwiches, burgers and other delightful treats will be available from our street food vendors as well as freshly brewed Coffee from our artisan Coffee guys. and a massage tent to smooth out any sore muscles. For more info click here The Stamfordham 10k race is a captivating rural run that loops through the picturesque neighbourhoods of Dalton and Dissington. This idyllic route is on a largely flat course with some steady inclines and a downhill 1k to the finish.
Race HQ will be located in the Cricket Pavilion - please note there is about a 15 minute walk to the start line. To enter click here Elvet Striders are delighted to once again host the Willow Miner Trail race now kindly sponsored by LETS RUN.
The course covers 5.4 miles of beautiful trail through woodland and nature reserve, those returning to the race can witness how the woodland trust has grown and matured since the inception of the event. After a winding start through Houghall woods, the course drops into the undulating section of the Durham Woodland Trust, climbing up to views over the River Wear and Croxdale Woods before descending to wildflower meadows and around to the Willow Lady. A singletrack section along the bank of the River Wear leads to a climb up towards the Willow Miner, before traversing back to Houghall Woods and the finish. The route will be fully marked and marshalled so no navigational experience is required. For more information click here Three years on since Wild Deer’s first ever Event, we return to Chopwell Woods in Gateshead for our Annual 10k. This will be ran alongside the Gateshead Duathlon Events.
With some testing trails and some fabulous scenerey, runners have loved all our events so far at Chopwell Woods. The Druridge Bay 10k and Junior Run (Entry Adults £21 Juniors £6) is now firmly established in the annual sporting calendar and is an event that people return to each year. We are returning to the usual date of 29th May 2022. With a total of 500 entries that sell out quickly, it’s proven to be one of the most popular runs in Northumberland. Over the years it has attracted all levels of runners from Olympians to fun runners. Many people have graduated up from their local 5k parkrun to this longer distance, and keep coming back each year. The race sees runners compete around the stunning Druridge Bay Country Park including a memorable section along the gorgeous beach. Registration is now open – you can register here Please enter early to avoid disappointment, a medal will be given to all participants. We are keeping our new route which starts on the beach, as we received excellent feedback from last year’s participants. The Junior Run is also now open for entries- 9.30am on Sunday 29th May 2022 if you know of any schools/ clubs who may be interested in putting in some teams - please do get in touch - earthur@hospicecare-nn.org.uk We are looking also for some volunteer marshals for the 10K and Junior run if you are not wishing to run but would like to donate your time – please do email – earthur@hospicecare-nn.org.uk
