Birtley A.C. was founded in 1987 Club Headquarters Lord Lawson Of Beamish Academy, Birtley Lane, Birtley, DH3 2LP Club Nights Tuesday & Thursday at 6.45pm. (Additional sessions at the discretion of coaches and Athletes) We meet in the PE block at the far end of the school. Membership Fees Due on 1st April annually.

Online membership applications can be made here . Advantages of being a club member apart from the requirement of competition are :-
Weekly Subscriptions £2.00 per week, payable on first night’s attendance whether Tuesday or Thursday. We are now taking card payments in club, to save you hunting out change every week. You can also pay for multiple weeks at a discounted rate. Club Clothing Registered Club Colours are :- Blue Vest with Yellow side stripe, blue shirts with yellow side stripe. Athletes are required to wear club vests in a number of events. These can be purchased from Lee or Kay Drummond on a club night, or online in the club shop. Club hoodies are also available. Club Activities Throughout the year the club competes in a variety of athletics events, including cross-country, road racing and track & field. The club enters teams in Northern and National competitions, and several road relays. As this is an athletics club, members are expected to compete wherever possible. Club Notice Board Important information concerning races and events etc are displayed on the club notice board online, or in the sports block. These notices should be read on a regular basis to keep up to date with events. Club Meetings Club meetings are normally held monthly (specific day is currently under review). The date of the upcoming meeting will be published on the website and on our FB page. ALL members are encouraged to attend to have their input on how the club is run. If you cannot attend, items to be included on the agenda can emailed to our club secretary Val Baxter. Coaching meetings are held at the discretion of the Coach Coordinator. Any matters or agenda items concerning coaching should be forwarded to the coach coordinator. Clubmark Sport England Clubmark is a cross sport recognition programme of sports clubs which are committed to providing a safe,effective and child-friendly environment. David Lowes, athletics development officer for Durham Sport, worked closely with the club for over a year and was delighted with the achievement. “The club has worked extremely hard to achieve Clubmark. The club officials have been on courses to support their learning and put in numerous hours behind the scenes. I am sure once parents realise the value of the accreditation the club will have plenty of new members banging on the door wanting to participate in athletics” The Club were reassessed 2011 and accredited to 2014. Roll of Honour
Since the formation of the club, the coaches have worked hard trying to achieve success for the athletes of Birtley. There have been many triumphs, both personally and in competition. Below are a few of the successes achieved.
