Durham Summer Relays 2019

Birtley fielded some great relay teams at this event, with the senior men (Greg Poulton, Lewis McConnell and Adrian Bailes) coming a close second place in the seniors race, and a "senior" team which included two masters athletes coming a creditable 20th place, but the crowning achievement had to be the masters women, romping home to take the Masters Women's title - congratulations to Lisa Short, Ruth Dadswell and Lorna Graham with a winning time almost a minute faster than their nearest rivals!
Very big shout for Adrian Bailes, fastest athlete overall, and he managed that from the 3rd leg (the next 3 were from the 1st leg).
