"I have recently set up a series of running events in the North East that humans can do with their dogs, and I’m trying to spread the word! The first event is at Chopwell Wood, Gateshead on Sunday 16 June with 2 more to be announced for the back end of the year. Each event has a 5 mile, 5k and a 1 mile Family Wolfpack Run to get all the family involved. The events can also be walked. The website is traildogevents.co.uk and is TRAILDOG Events on both Facebook and Instagram (we’re currently running a competition for a Ruffwear running belt and leash too)." Saturn running have recently started a series of 7hr timed challenge events in the North East, with two previous events in Durham being extremely popular and successful.
Their next event, Operation Overlord (D-Day Landings 75th Anniversary) is at Druridge Bay Country Park on 8th June 2019 and they have further events scheduled as follows: 6th July 2019 - Despicable Run - Derwent Walk Country Park 25th August - Time Turner & Great North Run Training Run - Durham 10th November - Remembrance Day Run - Durham All other events are 7hr time challenge events where the runner can chose how far they want to run from 5km to ultra-marathon. All participants receive a great medal, goody bag and have permits issued by the Trail Running Association. They are also recognised by the 100 Marathon Club.
