On Saturday 28th December, PH Racing Club will be hosting the second instalment of the Tilli 10k, a new race in 2018, which was a fantastic success and returning again for this year.
The race is at a quiet time of the year for racing and is located in the Scottish Central Belt, starting and finishing in Tillicoultry (between Edinburgh & Glasgow). All of the details can be found on Entry Central - https://www.entrycentral.com/tilli10k We have a stellar field assembling currently and are looking to boost the sharp end of the race by offering a very decent prize pot. This year’s total prize fund is over £1500 with cash prizes awarded for first three male and female, as well as first in each five year age category. There will also be other prizes for second and third in each age group. The winners of the male and female races will each receive £120 with a £50 bonus if the course record is broken. The course records from the inaugural event in 2018 stand at 30:44 by Robbie Simpson (Commonwealth Games Marathon Bronze Medallist last year) and 37:50 by Fiona Matheson. After researching through the North East running clubs on runbritain rankings and Power of 10 we are aware that your club has runners who have run times better or close to these records this year and who would certainly be in the mix for the overall and age category prizes. We were therefore wondering if you would be able to share the details of the race (https://phracingclub.co.uk/2019/10/10/entries-open-for-2019-tilli-10k/) and our entry central link (https://www.entrycentral.com/tilli10k) to any of your members who may be interested please? We understand that this would be quite a bit of travelling from the North East up to Scotland for your members but thought it would be worth mentioning to you in case you have anyone in your club fancying a crack at prizes / the course records / visiting up here over the holiday period. We appreciate that the timing of the race means that it is on the same weekend as the very popular Ribble Valley 10k in the North West of England ,which your members may already be signed up for, however, we are hoping to put on a top class race with chipped timing and a Scottish Athletics permit along a very fast route.
