DABGC UK Club Athletics Championships Sunday 29th May 2022 - FREE EVENT

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS

The finals take place this year on Sunday 29th May at Middlesbrough Sports Village, Alan Peacock Way, Middlesbrough. TS4 3AE
                            
In both the boys and girls events Clubs can enter 1 individual in each event per age group team - this means that you may not get your first choice of event. The final decision on allocation of events lies with the team manager/coaches. Points will be awarded in each event to count towards the team total.
 
Boys & Girls U11   -    9 or 10 on  31st August 2022
Boys & Girls U13   -  11 or 12 on  31st August 2022
Boys & Girls U15   -  13 or 14 on  31st August 2022
Boys & Girls U17   -  15 or 16 on  31st August 2022
Boys & Girls U20   -   17 or over on 31st August 2021 but under 20 on 31st  December 2022
 
U11 can compete in 2 events plus relay
U13, U15 & U17 can compete in 3 events plus relay        
U20 can compete in 5 events including relay
 
Substitutes will be allowed on the day, but must be registered upon arrival.
 
Closing date Friday, 27th May, 2022
 
Reporting time 11.00am – 11.30am at Middlesbrough Sports Village
 
Reporting will be at the reception desk in the stand at the Middlesbrough Sports Village and team managers will be issued with the following:-
a)      Complimentary programmes for runners
b)      Runners numbers and pins
 
Field  Events starts at 12.00 noon                 Track Events starts at 12.30 pm
 
Ample free parking for cars and coaches is in the main car park at the side of the stadium. The Sports Village has good road access from the A19 via the A174.    
Food and drink will be available for purchase at Middlesbrough Sports Village but if you do not wish to do this,  please make sure that your team members bring a packed lunch. (Subject to Covid restrictions)
Medals will be presented to the 1st, 2nd  &  3rd  in  each event throughout the afternoon.             
Team trophies will be presented to the Captain of the winning teams on completion of the meeting.

Under 13 Competition is confined to athletes aged 11 & 12 at midnight on 31/08/2022 – maximum 3 events per day
Under 15 Competition is confined to athletes aged 13 & 14 at midnight on 31/8/2022 - maximum 3 events per day
Under 17 Competition is confined to athletes aged 15 & 16 at midnight on 31/08/2022 - maximum 3 events per day
Under 20 Competition is confined to athletes aged 17 or over at midnight on 31/08/2022 and under 20 at midnight on 31/12/2022
Senior Competition is for athletes aged at least 20 years of age on 31/12/2022
   
Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 29th April 2022
 
There will be no entries accepted on the day and no late entries will be accepted.
 
Entry costs £8.50 per event
 
Choose the events you wish to enter and give your personal best performance in each event, plus the venue they were obtained at (leave blank if no PB for the event)

NEMAA Open Road Relay Champs, 4th May at Bedeswell Park, Hebburn

The Relay Championships are open to all masters who are UKA registered first claim members of the club for which they are competing and who qualify for the championships by residence or birth in the counties of Cleveland. Durham, Northumberland and Teeside (non-NEMAA members are welcome). The race HQ is at Jarrow & Hebburn AC Clubhouse at Monkton Stadium Jarrow, Tyne & Wear, NE32 5NJ.
There will be two relay races with teams of three runners, each runner will complete 2 laps of approximately 1.5km on tarmac paths around Bedeswell Park / Campbell Park.
Club vests – all team runners MUST wear the same design of registered club vest and colours. Teams will be disqualified unless the referee has given permission for a change to be made.
Please park responsibly at or around Monkton Stadium or future use of the venue could be jeopardised. There is a combined limit of 450 for the two races.

Race 1 - 6.30pm   Women 35 & over, Men over 65                                                                    
Race 2 - 7.15 (approx)   Men 35 – 64

Entry fees:  £5.00 per athlete. Clubs may enter more than one team in an age band. Down-aging is permitted in accordance with the rules below, each club must adhere to these rules or risk disqualification. Teams must be declared at least 30 minutes before each race with names and actual ages on the day specified on the official team entry sheet - teams are strongly encouraged to pre-declare using this form (names/running order can be changed on the day).
Entries close Friday 29 April. 
A summary of regulations.

  • A runner can only drop down to lower age group if there are insufficient runners in that age group to make up a team.
  • The age group of a team will be the age group of the youngest member of that team.
  • All runners actual age groups should be recorded on the team declaration form.
  • Runners may only run once and in one race on the night.
  • Mixed or composite teams other than those described above are not permitted.
  • A runner’s individual performance will only be recognised if they compete in a race containing their age group.

We welcome all ages and abilities from 7 upwards.  Young or old, fast or slow, everyone is welcome. Come along any Tuesday or Thursday at 6.45pm for a taster session and see if you can catch the running bug!
