Blackhill Bounders Steelworks Relay Wednesday May 15th 7pm

Birtley AC have been invited to provide 3 teams for this event (full details below) - if we are oversubscribed, participants will be chosen by the coaches or team captains. If you wish to be considered for a place in the team, please add you name here.

It’s that time of the year again where we return to our roots on the former steelworks site  and hold our relay event and post race festivities in Blackhill Club.

• The event will be a relay race and will take place on the former Steelworks site in Consett.

 

• Relay teams will consist of 3 runners with each runner completing a single lap (runners must be 16 years or over).

 

• All teams will be mixed teams of 3 seniors of any age category (at least one female and one male runner).

 

• Race HQ and site of after race festivities will be Blackhill Club.

 

• Race fee will be £12 per team to include race entry and food after (on production of race number).

 

• The route is a challenging 2.1 mile circuit (it is Consett!) on paths and with some steep slopes.

 

• A shield and free entry to Gibside Trail Race (November 2019) will be awarded to the winning team.

• Race numbers will be provided on the night but we would ask that clubs confirm their final number of teams by May 1st to allow us to cater for everyone.

 

• A map of the race route will be provided nearer the time (building work is on-going).

 

• Parking will be at Blackhill Club and the estate on the other side of the race route.
