Latest update from ECCA (Keep checking their FB page for last minute updates) We have been in discussions with Nottingham City Council and following the meeting we can update you as follows: “In the event of adverse weather and high winds (40mph +) alternative car parking arrangements will be in force. We strongly advise all visitors to arrive early in time for their race and to be prepared to be re-directed. The Council will utilise alternative areas not normally used for parking and they are currently trying to secure additional off site parking. Please be patient at all times, the organisers are working hard to ensure the event goes ahead”. Clearly it will not be cancelled because of the state of the course but parking safely is very important. We suggest you plan to get to Nottingham a good bit earlier than you would normally. Please keep looking for updates, as late as Saturday morning. Click on the image below to download the prospectus. A sign-up sheet is available on our online noticeboard - please get your names down in plenty of time to allow us to enter the correct number of teams required, I need names by 2nd Feb at the latest.
Message from Northern Athletics
Due to increased rainfall at the Camp Hill Estate in Bedale we have had to slightly alter the layout for the XC Championships on Saturday. Please see the attached picture. The main difference is the car park location and race start. #xcchamps2020 #northernathletics Our second cross country relays event consists of 3 races - senior men (ages 16-34), masters men, and women (seniors and masters). The masters races incorporate the NEMAA Open Cross Country Relay Championships - you don't need to be a member of NEMAA to win an individual or team medal, you just need to make sure your club has a team entered!
Last year's races proved very popular, and the same course is being utilised this year (map shown below). The full prospectus, including prize list, can be viewed here, and online entries are available in our store - there will be no entries on the day. As a North East Championship, entries are made and paid for by the club - please add your name and age group HERE if you wish to run in this important local competition. Names must be on the list by 21st November NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. This year commemorates 25 years since the 1st European Championships in Alnwick. No course maps are currently available - these will be published here as soon as we have them. There are team prizes available as well as individual titles (3 to count for most younger age groups, 4 for senior women and 6 for senior men).
The first three finishers in the county championships will have automatic selection for NECAA teams. The next priority race (Northern Champs) will indicate current form and teams will be selected the following day. If athletes are unable to run in the Northerns, all other cross country races will then be taken into account IF THE SELECTORS ARE INFORMED. Final details will be sent out and posted on the NECAA website. U11 Race In addition to the main event, there will also be an U11 non-championship run (1.5k) starting at 10.35am. Entries will be taken on the day only (£2), no later than 10am, but Vicki would prefer our entries on one spreadsheet if possible, so please add your name(s) to THIS U11 LIST Competitors must be age 9 or 10 on the day.
